Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, the singer has done work everywhere. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B culture. In 2005, she was the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choral leader for the production. Sunshine was noticed by all of the country during four performances per day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
