Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of fans and became a star thanks to his folk-inspired songs most of which were based in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in affection with Colorado and then settled in Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his state of origin led many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said in his report that John Denver was the best singer to have captured Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. When I travel, I always meet someone from the opposite continent, a person of New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado The first word to come out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in folk groups which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song using Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version and listened to it, he was convinced that the song could be one of the top hits. The artist recorded the song just a few days later when he performed it in front of crowds of enthusiastic fans who were in Washington D.C.
